Community Forward’s mission is to inspire people to support locally-owned businesses. The health of local businesses is key to the success of our community, and the health of local businesses is reliant on locals supporting them.

Cohosts Matt and Mark interview local business owners to help market and spotlight their business(es) to the Fargo-Moorhead community each week on This Side of Country with Trav on 95.9 KRFF.

Matt Carlson, the entrepreneur, has similar lived experiences to the guests being interviewed as the owner of Fix It Forward Auto Care.

Mark Wallace, with 15 years of local banking experience, has a unique perspective having assisted hundreds of companies with their finances.

CEO Fix It Forward Auto Care

Matt Carlson left Microsoft after 15 years to run Fix It Forward Ministry, the Non-Profit organization he started has helped people in need with transportation issues. He later started Fix It Forward Auto Care to enable the ministry and doing so has helped give away nearly 500 cars and prepare over 1000 free car repairs. This non-profit/for-profit partnership has also helped the shop grow to 4 locations, over 50 employees and over $10m/year in sales.

Mark assisted Fargo-Moorhead business owners protect, manage, and grow their organization’s finances as a business banker before pursing marketplace ministry. He serves as the Executive Director of Faith Forward, a local non-profit organization that equips the working world to live and lead like Jesus.

Travis Hopkins

Host 95.9 Radio Free Fargo

Travis is the current host of "This Side Of Country" on 95.9 KRFF Radio Free Fargo. The program has been nominated multiple times for Best Local Radio Show, achieving wins twice as well as helping earn two Best Local Podcast wins. Travis has been a radio personality in the Fargo/Moorhead area for 15 years. He's also emceed for numerous fundraisers, pageants, community events and provided many on stage concert announcements. When Travis isn't producing and hosting his radio show, he's handling Outreach Coordinator duties for Fix It Forward Ministry and assists with events and marketing for Fix It Forward Auto Care.
